Prop and Costume Information

Props:
I didn’t use many props in the music video to help tell my story, however where I did, they all had significance.

Costume:
I decided that I wanted to make Summer look young, free and happy, so her costume included a pair of shorts, tights but most importantly a orange top. The orange garment was supposed to help me link back to my motif of nature, however I overlooked one potential problem. All of the shots of Summer were recoloured in to Black & White so the audience could not see the colour of her top. So I decided in the editing process of one flashback scene to include a transition where the scene is in colour before ‘wiping’ from colour to black and white

Although I decided to have my males character wear a jamber and a pair of jeans. A relatively average outfit to make them look like an ordinary member of the public and also so that the audience could possibly relate their situation back to their own lives. However I didn’t specifically intend to as I noticed that my character was wearing a Nike branded jamber and trainers. In industry we would have to make sure that there are no legal issues that I may face by including the Nike logo. In industry I could have also used this as an opportinity to make money through product placement. so I could have made my actor wear a specific brand’s clothing and asked the brand to pay me for advertising their product in the music video.
